Nasarawa State Civil Service Commission has screened and interviewed 16 Casual Staff from the department of Nutritions, under the State Ministry of Finance, Budget and Planning, with a view to absorbing them into the mainstream of the state civil service.
The Nutritionists, who were engaged as Casual staff by the Ministry of Finance, were cross posted as auxiliary staff to the Ministry of Health, and other health institutions in the state, so as to provide healthcare service delivery, especially in relations to nutrition education, food Hygiene and the intake of adequate diet by patients and cares-mothers.
Addressing the Members of the Commisson during the screening and interview exercise held at the Commission's boardroom last week, , the Chairman of the Commission, Musa Dangana Giza explained that, the formalization of their appointments was in respect to approval given by His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A Sule, directed the Commission to absorb the engaged Casual staff working in various public health institutions as Nutritionists, into the services of Nasarawa State Government, towards strengthening the healthcare service delivery.
The Chairman maintained that, the Commission in the course of its exercise, thoroughly screen the applicants to ensure that, only those engaged as Casual staff in the Ministry of Health and other public health centres in the state, were employed, emphasizing the needs for the Members of the Commission to follow the due process in absorbing the Casual staff into the service, as directed by His Excellency.
He recalled with nostalgia the recent dirctive which His Excellency, mandated the Commision to absorbed recent Casual staff working across the Ministries, Agencies and Departments of government, into the civil service, where some heads of MDAs shortchanged the exercised,
for not forwarded genuine names of Casual staff to the Commission, just as he assured that, members of the Commission for this exercise, would consider and absorb only staff of the Nutrition departments working in government health institutions into the state service. He commended Governor Abdullahi A Sule for prioritized health need of the people in the state, stressing that, the Commission would continue to implement the policy direction of Governor Abdullahi A. Sule's administration, towards restructuring the civil service in the state.
